WA: Joy glider flight ends with possible spinal injuries

Two people taking an Easter Monday joy flight in a glider have crashed to the ground
after hitting power lines.

Police say at least one person is seriously injured.

The accident happened about noon (WST) at Beverley, 129km east of Perth, when the tow
line, connecting the glider to the towing plane, apparently snapped soon after they became
airborne.

Inspector BILL TODD says both glider occupants had been taken to hospital, one suffering
suspected spinal injuries.
