NT: Court furniture to be shipped to Dili

DARWIN, Feb 4 AAP - The furniture from the Northern Territory's Supreme Court building,
where Lindy Chamberlain was tried, is bound for East Timor.

The NT Government has donated the furniture from three courtrooms to the UN Transitional
Authority in East Timor (UNTAET).

The trials of 45 people, most of whom were suspected of being involved in the violence
which followed a vote for independence last August, are due to start in East Timor in
mid-February.

But the courthouse in Dili has no dock, bar or bench.
