NSW: Elderly fall injuries costs NSW more than road trauma

SYDNEY, Feb 4 AAP - It costs more to treat injuries sustained by elderly people when
they fall than road trauma victims, NSW Health Minister Craig Knowles said today.

The state government is developing a community prevention strategy, with estimates
the annual cost of treating the injuries will blow out to $650 million by 2050 as people
live to an older age.

"No other singe injury cause, including road trauma, costs the health system more than
